This is an exciting opportunity to work for a progressive expanding company. HydroCo Ltd is seeking to recruit a Clean Water Hydraulic Modeller to support their project teams primarily at their water front offices in Hayling Island, Hampshire. HydroCo Ltd was set up in 2001 to provide the water industry with high quality technical support in the management, planning and optimisation of water supply and distribution systems, with a particular focus on network modelling and its wider application. We are looking for a candidate that is motivated, competent and is an analytical person, who has at least two years’ experience within the water industry. You should have a working knowledge of clean water networks and modelling software packages and be familiar with current industry best practice. Working within a team of engineers and reporting to a Senior Engineer, it is essential that you are a team player that works well on your own initiative and possess strong communication skills.

Trainee Water Engineer

£18,000 - £24,000
Due to the growing workload, we seek to recruit a Trainee Water Engineer to support our project teams. We are looking for an enthusiastic staff member, primarily based at our prestigious waterfront offices in Hayling Island. The position would suit someone looking to start a career in the water industry The work will be divided between office and field based activities, depending on the current project work load. The field activities will include installing data logging equipment on hydrants and visiting pumping stations and reservoirs to log pressures and reservoir depths. You will be required to work with another person to help navigate and install / retrieve the loggers. We will provide all the necessary training and equipment to do this. Preferably you will have a full clean driving licence as your duties may include driving company vehicles. Our clients are UK wide and there may be a need to travel and stay away, if appropriate. The office based activities will include maintaining our field equipment stock and supporting our engineers in producing computer based hydraulic models of water supply and distribution systems. Typically this will involve data processing of the field data and generating the base models using GIS. As such, an attention to detail and a sound knowledge of computers is required. Full training will be given and no previous experience is necessary, although a basic understanding of hydraulics and an engineering based qualification would be an advantage. Ideally you will be a Graduate with an HND / BEng / MEng or equivalent qualifications, although applicants with lesser qualifications may be considered.
